Fine, uniform fleece that maintains its baby-soft handle as the alpaca matures: this is a quality we strive for at Genesis Alpacas. Romeo’s dreamy fleece features medium amplitude and medium frequency crimp. His fleece architecture only improves with age, exhibiting popcorn bundling.
A medium frame male, Romeo exhibits pleasing proportions and a beautiful face with large dark eyes and excellent depth of jaw. With robust good health and strong libido, Romeo showed a keen interest in breeding as early as 14 months of age. He is an efficient breeder, settling maidens in one breeding.
Romeo inherits excellent immune competence and reproductive genes from his dam. Her crias' IgGs are near 3000, and they gain nearly a pound a day on her plentiful milk. At 16 years of age, Romeo's dam looks youthful, conceives on a single breeding and still produces a cria every year.
Fineness and uniformity of micron are locked in from both sides of Romeo's heritage, and we believe you will see an improvement in the handle of your cria’s fleeces. Romeo's dam's well-nourished, 9-year fleece tested out at 18.9 microns and an sd of 4.5. Romeo's sire's fleece brought home a blue ribbon from the AOBA Nationals, and boasted a first year histogram of 18 microns, with an unbelievable standard deviation of 2.9 and cv of 16.1!
Romeo's crias display vigor and eye-catching presence, and their dense, bundled fleece is bright, crimpy and colorful! Dark pigment (black skin, gums and toenails) indicates Romeo is carrying strong color genes from his cinnamon-colored dam.

We just LOVE Prestige, she's everything we could have asked for! She's given us 3 girls in a row, but we certainly wouldn't mind a boy. She created rose grey Premier's Absolute, who is known nationally as one of the top grey males in the country and who Julie Skinner praised. He sold for $150,000 at the Futurity. Her list of Champion and Blue ribbon winning offspring is long. She produces fineness and consistency that, like her own, is maintained into maturity. This is the quality Reiling Ranch is striving to replicate across their herd and so pleased that Premier helped us take another step toward achieving our goal.
Her sire is the renowned Don Julio from the first Peruvian import. He was proclaimed at his first show as the closest thing to the perfect alpaca. He put his stamp on fine offspring before leaving the US. Her dam is one of the most cherished at Cas-Cad-Nac producing a champion line for them.
Prestige has a nice head with excellent depth of jaw and maintains a perfect bite at 12 years of age. She has heavy bone that she passes along to her offspring. Her fiber is extremely dense and still shows nice character. Even in her older age, she maintains a fineness comparable to most yearlings. Her offspring have all had good consistent crimp, fineness, and density.
Prestige gave us another girl! Black from Snowmass Porteus. She is incredible! Took a blue in her first show! We believe that the dam contributes at least 50% of the genetics, so we try to maintain the best foundation girls we can.
Next we have a stunning white male from Prestige and Porteus who we can't wait to get in the ring. He is very dense and consistent in crimp. He also has the spectacular "silky" fleece that Snowmass has pioneered. We are so excited to get a "silky" and the fact that he's a boy is a bonus because he will be a huge assest to anyone's breeding program.

King is now breeding and absolutely is one of the nicest alpacas we've had born here. His Pedigree is wonderful. Full of superfine genetics like Accoyo Elite, Accoyo Legacy, Augusto, Hemingway, Cahuide, and more. He is available for lease at a very attractive plan; if you're interested, please call. He has a beautiful histogram and a high curvature, well defined zipper style crimp. In his first show he took a 1st Place at exactly 6 months old with incredible competition. He has gone on to win many more blue ribbons. Judges absolutely loved his fineness and density as well as his perfect alpaca body type. Very square, solid, and big boned with lots of presence and a perfect alpaca head style. We continue to get excellent feedback from AOBA Judges and they all love his build, body type, and coverage. Cameo's dam was Snowmass' Don Julio's Prestige, and her maternal grandsire is Don Julio from the first Peruvian import. Cameo's genetics are definitely World Class!
She ribboned in the 2008 Arkansas Alpaca Adventure before she began to breed. Reiling's Nova's Gold was chosen for her maiden breeding as an excellent match for her. Her first cria elicited "oohs" and "ahhs" from the Reiling's visitors.
Being bred to Snowmass Porteus who is out of Snowmass XXXtreme has us tremendously thankful as the untimely passing of Porteus limits his gene pool for the rest of us. Porteus was simply one of those rare Alpacas with tremendous fineness into maturity and unbelievable conformation in a large sized package.
December 2, 2010 saw Cameo give birth to our first cria: PORTEUS' PERFECT CADENCE. She has a beautifully shaped head with full fleece coverage. Her form is outstanding. Her first show as a Modern Rose Gray was in a competitive class of 7 grays at the Amarillo Hi-Plains Alpaca Show. She took home a 2nd place red ribbon, then topped that with a 1st place blue ribbon at the February, 2012 TxOLAN show in Ft. Worth. We could not be more pleased!
UPDATE: Cameo's latest cria arrived on 12/4/2012! Madness' Cameorose Waltz, an exquisite female shows lots of promise, tracing her beautiful shiny fleece from her Snowmass heritage. She was rebred to Snowmass King of Hearts and delivered a beautiful cria, Carmina Burana.
