Sire:
Tom Terrific
| AOA# 839326 | White
|
Tom is the classic example of retained fineness. At 17 his AFD was still a high grade one at 19.2. Tim is the son of Big Hoss and grandson of Felix.
Dam:
JM Matilda
| AOA# 817873 | White
|
Matilda was one of our original females; a big female with fine fiber who died in 2015. Her bloodline included Gold Duster and Goldsmith. Matilda also retained her fineness, so we expected Early Light to exhibit this trait.
Description
Dawn's Early Light is a young white male with a lot of fleece. He sheared close to 10 pounds in 2018, and his 2017 histogram showed an AFD of 20.1 and an SD of 3.6. His 2019 shearing produced an AFD of 20.8, and SD of 3.9, and a % > 30 of 1.6, so he is fine and very uniform.
His sire is our Tom Terrific, an 18 year old male who maintains his fineness. He maintained his grade 1 (less than 20 microns) for 14 years. His pedigree includes Felix, Don Julio.
Early Light is a stylish male, not too big, and pretty easy to work with. We have not used him, but have considered him several times. He is intact, but unproven, so he is being sold as if he were a gelding.
Early Light will make a great fiber male or a starter breeding male for a new herd.
