We have been to quite a few harvest host places, but this stop has to be one of the top 5 to stay. We loved the alpacas, our hosts, her store. We enjoyed her sharing her wealth of knowledge and love for her animals. i just wish we lived closer to this farm. This farm is s gem. They also have 50 amp hook up, which is great too.
Gina is a wealth of knowledge about all phases of raising, marketing and showing alpacas. The products were fantastic and the animals clean and friendly. Well worth your time to stop in for a visit!
This has been a bucket list to visit a Alpaca farm and I could have never imagined the best learning experience ever. Gina was amazing teaching us all about the Alpacas and her love for them just shines. We were able to get up close and feed them, and hear why they shave them certain ways and so much more. It is a must stop if you are able. Learning about alpaca fibers and what all it can be used for and feel some fiber. The store has amazing products that are just lovely and yarn she dyes herself. She waste nothing just can not say enough. Fresh eggs to buy and the cutest turkey ever on the farm. Not just seeing and petting Alpacas but the education she gives is unmeasurable. She is so accommodating and even came out in the evening to see if we had any more questions or needed anything.
This was our 1st HH stay and I doubt any other will live up to this one. Gina is not only lovely but inspiring. She is savy business women who utilizes everything she can from her beautiful herd. The shop is filled with innovative hand made goods and other goodies for the kiddos. She is passionate and gave us and our young children a wonderful educational experience on her peaceful property. The boys were able to help out with cleaning out the baby barn which they really actually enjoyed. Makala was very sweet and told us stories about the herd and how much the crews loves and cares for them. We were able to hook up to power for $10 and a water hose was available. The alpacas are visible from the level gravel pad rv HH parking . There is a nice table and swing set up under a shade tree to sit and listen to the birds, breeze and the various adorable sound the alpacas makes. If youre in the area i highly recommended this HH. Know your room measurements because you're going to want a rug!
This was my first HH place. Directions were spot on. Parking was nice. Loved seeing the Alpacas and learning about them. Even got to feed a few?? The hostess, Gina, is such a nice person & shared lots of info about their farm & the animals. Highly recommend.
We stayed here a few months ago, but kept forgetting to leave a review. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Quiet and peaceful. Adorable alpacas. Love that the owner is so passionate about the rearing of alpacas.
We learned more than we could have imagined about these gentle, wooly creatures. Gina spent a lot of time with us, touring the farm, answering questions, and telling about their history. We learned about the day to day work, as well as the business, education, and creative aspects of her passion for these animals. The gift shop is beautiful with many hard to resist items. We really enjoyed our stay and the time spent with the alpacas and other animals.
If you want to learn and experience the life Gina lives; her love and care for the alpacas; the breeding process; showing them in competitions; understanding the value and quality of the fleece; the excitement and hardships for each of the expectant pregnant mommas; to the wonderful alpaca store; and on the morning we left, Gina was in her element teaching a large community group about her animals and alpaca advocacy! It’s all Wonderful! You’ll get to see all of this up close and personal - the Legendary Alpacas of Texas; Gina and her crew are the REAL deal! We loved our time there! We ABSOLUTELY recommend this Harvest Hosts stop! It was our first HH overnight stay and we are so glad we found this overnight stay! We also ‘scored’ some great keepsakes and gifts from the store! Go there - you won’t regret it! TY again, Gina!
Gina is an amazing host. She was extremely informative. I admire her entrepreneurial spirit. It was such a relaxing environment. Even got to see an adult alpaca playing with her 3 week old granddaughter.
