As you step foot upon the Trail of the Cedars within Glacier National Park, a sign reads “You are among the ancients here”.
Cedar trees are known for their longevity. Like many of us, they take years to reach maturity ;). The average lifespan of a true cedar is well over 300 years old -- with some of the oldest living up to 1,000+ years.
Trees symbolize many things, but there was something mesmerizing about the cedar. We couldn't help but think of what these trees had seen and what stories they could tell. They were majestic, larger than life, wise, and steady -- with root systems that were unbroken through the centuries.
The "Cedar" in Cedar & Sage came directly from this humbling experience. We could feel the peace walking through these silent titans -- as if they were saying "We've experienced change for hundreds of years and we're still standing tall.”
